A Walmart Transportation driver won the grand champion title at the recent 2024 Michigan Truck Driving Championship staged by the Michigan Trucking Association.
The grand champion is Wayne Gootee, who also won the sleeper berth class.
The class winners are:
- 3-axle: Lamarr Jones, FedEx Corp.
- 4-axle: Stephen Romska, Walmart
- 5-axle: Vadim Iusin, Walmart
- Flatbed: Dave Evans, Walmart
- Sleeper berth: Wayne Gootee, Walmart
- Straight truck: Brett Lantham, Old Dominion Freight Lines
- Tanker: Steve Elliston, Walmart
- Twins: Gary Dietlein, Walmart
Each class winner is eligible to compete in the National Truck Driving Championship in Indianapolis, Aug. 21-24.
