Tractor-trailer burns at truck stop near I-81 in Upstate New York

No injuries were reported when a tractor-trailer caught fire and was destroyed earlier this week at a truck stop near Interstate 81 near the New York-Pennsylvania state line. 

Emergency crews responded to the fire at the Love’s Travel stop on Industrial Park Drive in the Town of Kirkwood around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29. The Town of Kirkwood is located about 11 miles southeast ofn Binghamton.

No injuries have been reported.

Five Mile Point Fire Company, New York State Electric and Gas, New York State Police, New York State Spill Response and the Broome County Sheriff’s Road Patrol responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
