Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia, Kansas, recently introduced its new Commercial Driver's License program.

This program arises from the allocation of business development funds by the state, with training conducted by the Kansas Department of Revenue. FHTC's own Eric Crook, a seasoned professional in the field, participated in the training and received commendations from the senior state CDL coordinator.

The CDL Program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and certifications for a career in commercial driving. Participants will undergo training, including comprehensive skills preparation and testing, to ensure they meet the requirements set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Upon successful completion, students will be eligible for their CDL license.

Crook, the lead trainer for the program, has over three decades in the industry, including roles in trucking and management. 

"This program is a gateway to a world of opportunities," said Crook.

The CDL Program at FHTC is not only about obtaining a license, it's also about preparing students for diverse career paths within the transportation industry, according to as tatement from the college..
